Our Purpose
Every Great Story Begins With Love... And A Wiggly Butt!
Daisy’s Dog House was built on one simple promise:
EVERY pet deserves to feel safe, loved, comfortable, and treated like family.
The Friend Who Started It All
Meet Daisy
I bought Daisy with one of my very first paychecks from my dog bathing job at Petal Animal Clinic when I was just thirteen years old.
We grew up together. She was by my side through my teenage years, learning to drive, graduating high school, meeting Jimmy, moving to Starkville, being accepted into veterinary school, and getting married. She celebrated every milestone with me, always there with a wiggly butt and kiss.
When Daisy was twelve years old, I lost her to a brain tumor. I was twenty-five and in my final year of veterinary school. Losing her was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced. She was my best friend, my heart dog, and my once-in-a-lifetime soul dog.
Daisy played such a significant role in shaping the person and veterinarian I am today. The love, loyalty, and comfort she gave me inspired a lifelong passion for caring for animals. Because of everything she meant to me, the business could only ever be “Daisy’s Dog House.”
Every pet that walks through our doors is cared for with the same love and devotion that Daisy gave to me for so many years. Her legacy lives on in every wagging tail, every happy reunion, and every family who trusts us with one of their own.
“She wasn’t just my dog. She was my best friend. My heart dog. My once-in-a-lifetime soul dog.” — Karley
A Legacy of Love
Meet Nita Kay
Some people leave a lasting impression—not because of what they accomplish, but because of how they love. Nita Kay was one of those people.
For more than forty years, she was the best friend of Daisy’s founder’s mother, but to everyone who knew her, she was family. She never met an animal she didn’t love. Horses, dogs, cats, donkeys, and even the catfish in her pond all held a special place in her heart.
Her happiest days were spent surrounded by family, friends, and animals. She believed every occasion—big or small—was worth celebrating, and she had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and at home.
To honor the joy she brought into so many lives, our luxury boarding accommodations are named after the places, memories, and simple things she loved most.
The greatest legacy we can leave behind is simply making others feel loved.
A Life Filled With Love
The Simple Things She Loved Most.
Quiet glimpses into a life shaped by kindness, compassion, friendship, and a deep love for every living thing.
Love Leaves Paw Prints That Never Fade.
Daisy taught us what unconditional love looks like. Nita Kay showed us that the greatest legacy we leave behind is how deeply we love.
Together, their stories became the heart of Daisy’s Dog House.
Every pet who walks through our doors becomes part of a promise—a promise inspired by Daisy’s unconditional love and Nita Kay’s remarkable legacy of kindness. Their stories live on in every tail wag, every gentle touch, and every moment of care we share.
We’ll care for your pet like our own family.
